Assorted Flavors of the Maritimes by Bobbie Mortensen
Andrew and Laura McCain Art Gallery
Bobbie began painting in 1987. What began as a hobby, turned into an obsession. She paints in oil, acrylic and some watercolours. She is a self-taught artist with no formal training. Her paintings mainly depict Canadian scenery, seascapes and some flowers and animals.

She has been exhibiting and selling her work professionally since 1993 and has had seven successful sole exhibits. She also has exhibited at galleries, libraries, craft fairs and businesses. She has been commissioned to do several large works by individuals and companies. Her paintings have found homes across Canada, the USA, the UK, Europe and Australia.

Bobbie has donated many paintings for fund raising events, such as for the Canadian Institute for the Blind, the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada, the Family Mental Health Support Society and to various hospitals.

Bobbie currently makes her home in Wolfville, NS, but she has traveled and lived across Canada and Europe. She is married to a retired serviceman and they have two grown sons.
