Previous Activities & Events

Collaboration between Library and Gallery.
Children will take a tour of Thaddeus Holownia's photographs, identify rivers on a map and look at other other visual artifacts, ie. old maps, photos, drawings, and paintings, that visually describe the history of the river(s) in the area. Upstairs we will listen to river stories and discuss various ways we have used the river over time before finishing up with an art project.

In the second program we will focus on stories and songs. A storyteller will be invited to relay Glooscap legends about the river and we will tell other stories, sing folk songs about the Miramichi and incorporate body movement and music into our interpretation of these stories.
